About Me
- Name: Furious George
- Location: Chapel Hill, NC
Furious George is a microradio DJ and low-power/pirate broadcaster whose show weaves together bizarre news, revolutionary speeches, instrumental hip hop, and underground beats... Furious George took part in the creation of Free Radio Asheville in 1998, which led him to participate in the national movement to liberate public radio from the National Association of Broadcasters and National "Public" Radio. Thanks to the work of pirates and community activists, in 1999, Low-Power FM was legalized. Dr. Furious has been broadcasting with microradio and community radio stations throughout the Southeast for over 21 years... and, we're even on the West coast. Furious currently broadcasts on WCOM LPFM 103.5 in Chapel Hill/Carrboro North Carolina EVERY Thursdays at 10:00 PM. Check out www.wcomfm.org for live webcasts on Thursday nights. Furious is also simulcast on the West coast on Free Radio Santa Cruz, Mondays at 1pm. http://www.freakradio.org/. Dr. Furious is also simulcast on Radio Free Radical (http://radiofreeradical.org/) and Boulder Free Radio.
